A hispter, by context (and I’m not trying to be stereotypical) is someone who grows a beard, wears a pair of nerdy glasses, dressed in a slightly tight checkered button-down shirt with a bow tie obviously, and has tattoos covering all over the rest of the skin. This retro-polariod culture has taken the world of millenials by storm. And the only way for the rest of us to do, is to just embrace it, or what Michael Mahaffey would say, “deal widdit”. That’s right. Michael (a designer who apparently loves a bit of a hipster-ing) thought that hipsters all around the globe needs a proper, official identity due to its enormous popularity. So what he did is created something called ‘The Hispter Alphabet’.
“… hipsters all around the globe needs a proper, official identity due to its enormous popularity.”
“This retro-polariod culture has taken the world of millenials by storm.”
The Hipster Alphabet
Well, initially, The Hispter Alphabet was indeed a personal project to help Michael himself better understands the knowledge of web development. But for what you can see here, is a website made out of attention-to-details. From the way he captures the colors in each of the graphics to the words used on every description, you’ll know how much effort has put into making it. Or perhaps it shows how authentic and hispter character Michael is in real life. And above all else, The Hipster Alphabet hasn’t just showcase the creative capability of Michael Mahaffey, it too has captured the world’s attention of like-minded people.
“For something that started out as a crappy joke and a way to learn a little about front end development, the success was dumbfounding to say the least.”
