The earth, as we all know, is brimmed with abundance of resources and raw materials. Anything is possible, and everything has done. But there’s one place that most of us often overlooked when sourcing the best materials available – the trash. Well at least, especially, in the 21st century, where most natural resources are coming to an end, and most surface of the earth, including the ocean, is covered in waste. Something has to be done.
Lars Beller Fjetland, a designer in Norway, has created a project that would turn abandoned waste materials back into life. Or known to you and I as, the three Rs. Though it’s not something of a big deal, or a huge environmental on-going assignment, but he at least show the world what we can do and create with … junks. And what he really done with it, is absolutely, creatively beautiful.
Returned
“The Returned concept elevates leftover wood from being merely an ignored piece of trash to becoming a desired piece of feel-good woodcraft. A 100% recycled item, perfect as a housewarming-gift to someone with a big heart for Mother Nature.”
“Perhaps they were once the part of a loving household as a supportive table-leg or an armrest. Perhaps they never made it from their roots in the woods and into a finished piece of furniture, but got cut off somewhere along the way. Either way, they’re given a new shot at life as a perfect starting point for a Returned bird.”
The bird that Returned
“Each bird, including the packaging, is 100% recycled, and Fjetland brings these charming little things to life by way of a lathe, the “turning” process involved giving the collection its name.”
