I’m aware that there’s a lot of minimalist logo design out there with perhaps just one or two lines. And although this Prototype No.1’s logo has more than ten lines, it somehow manages to capture the essence of simplicity, the originality of design.

Let me make this straight, the Prototype No.1 is a place that combines four different stores in one, where each of the place is simplified into a simplest possible shape. The four simple shapes are then combined into one, which is exactly the actual process of the Prototype No.1. And that is simplicity.

From the logo, logotype to the other writings, you can clearly see that all of them are hand-written. So obviously, they’re all uneven. Rough edges, imbalance shapes, and inconsistent lines, these are what Prototype No.1 called ‘imperfections’. “It has imperfections but we think that adds personality”.

 

Much like us, every human being, and every object, has their own imperfections, their own story, and behind all these stuffs lies a unique personality. And that’s what set Prototype No.1 apart from everyone else.

“It’s a coffee shop but a pizzeria. A bookstore but a daily atelier. It’s passionate about art and music, about design and form. It’s a place you can enjoy a good cup of coffee or eat alone to the company of good food.”
