Have you ever heard of the term ‘Surrealism‘? It is also famously known as the ‘melting clock‘ (the only thing that spring to my mind). Whatever. Plainly explained, ‘Surrealism’ is a kind of art that paints pictures from dreams in way that you can’t accept it as reality (a melting clock…), or in other words, a simliar experience that you can feel on this bold website that I’m about to show you, the Olszańska (let’s throw ourselves into, shall we? Don’t worry, you won’t melt).
“There is no better welcome than with a smile, that is why I smile to you from this place. If you came across my virtual workshop, it would be a real pleasure to keep you here longer.”
Yes, that’s a thousand-smile welcome there by artist Barbara Olshańsky, the owner of this website. What Barbara does is that she collects creative thoughts from Blaise Pascal’s (a French mathematician) philosophical questions, and then some-how translating them into art form. An eccentric job, perhaps? Well, you should visit her art gallery then. Honestly, it just looks like a vintage circus scene to me (mind you, I’m blind to art).
A collection of eccentric arts deserves an equally bold website, so Barbara set out to search for someone who understands both her boldness and her unique approach to arts. The result is a fantastic parallax scrolling website designed to take you on a wanderlust tour to Barbara’s virtual art studio.
Inspired her own style, built by Tomasz Błokowski, WebIdea, and Paweł Data, the Olszańska is place where you can actually get into someone else’s mind (Barbara’s, to be specific). Even the sound effect feels like the sort of music you’ll be hearing when dreaming. Scroll all the way down, and you’ll be awake from a 7-hours sleep of déjà vu.
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy this wonderful tour.
