Yes, he’s not attached to anything. By that, they mean Lowdi hasn’t got a cable or a wire to plug into any sort of devices. He can sing any songs loudly on his own … with the help of some Blueteeth obviously. Interestingly, as we keep on describing ‘it’ as ‘he’, the Lowdi is in fact shorter than a … pencil. You could almost put him inside your pocket (Warning! Don’t be fooled by the size, he can turn any room into a concert hall!).
Anyway, I have to say, this wireless speaker is absolutely jaw-dropping gorgeous. It has got a compact retrolicious rounded rectangular overall shape with matte black surface, like you might find it in rock’n’roll time. The professionals describe it as a “French taste with fresh Dutch design”. Still, action always speak louder than words, so Lowdi decided to win 2 in 2013.
When I say ‘professionals’, I mean the people behind this amazing product. While Linkeet (a French digital products supplier) focuses on designing the product, Momkai (an independent Dutch digital design agency) is responsible for creating an identity for Lowdi.
The logotype, as you can see at the side of the Lowdi, is a custom typography designed to be like a vintage metal name-tag. The most stunning part of the Lowdi’s branding, however, is the , and it’s not what you’d normally see everyday. All the curved box-section suggests immediate cues of the product design. The words are also easy and fun to read, and the color scheme is carefully chosen to match the decade of the product. No surprise that this web design has been nominated for 3 .
