Everything you see from now on is a place that looks exactly like a classic apothecary. For me, at least. And as you dive deeper down into your curiosity, you’ll find a rather serious periodic table, medical labels, some beautiful vintage hand-sketches of plants, and an array of dimmed light bulbs, mysteriously illuminating a portion of the philosophical-looking potion jars. And finally from the sign ‘Pharma’, you can now confirmed that it’s and actual, proper pharmacy, selling hundreds of different medicines, curing thousands of sicks and diseases. That’s all true, but do they really?

What’s it really, this Bar Pharma?
Because after looking around for sometime, you notice that there’s a rack of (what appears to be) rums and whiskies, then a glass of gin served with crushed ice and herbs. Besides, there is another tiny word printed along the sign, says ‘Bar’. And all of a sudden, the what looks like a proper pharmacy turns out to be one of the best cocktail bars in Budapest.

Remember that I said that’s all true about curing sickness? It’s really true, but not your physical sickness. Well you see, the Bar Pharma is famous for their know-hows about pairing herbs and spices with spirits and cocktails. And more specifically, cocktails that’ll cure the sickness of your soul. Anyway, mixing and combining stuffs together is, no doubt, very chemistry. I think ti’s clear now why the whole Bar Pharma looks exactly like an 1851 Kiehl’s alchemist. Where all the staffs wear perfectly sterilized white lab coats, and using skulls and microscopes as rack decorations. I’m just saying.
